From this point forward, we’ll do our training and conditioning events as crews.

Please note the following upcoming dates:

26 October will be our next conditioning hike on the Bull Run Trail.

22-24 November will be our first overnight shakedown hike in the Shenandoah NP.

To get ready for shakedown hike, we’ll need to have a few more crew meetings to get some training sessions in. Stand by for separate emails on stoves, bear bags, and establishing a campsite the Philmont way.

With all the emails and information, we’ve established a Philmont tab on the troop website, which you can access at:  https://www.bsatroop1865.org/philmont.  All our emails will be archived there, as well as the rosters, packing lists, and gear advice, as well as the links to all the training videos.  This site is still under construction, but it is up and running and we’ll be building it out over the next few weeks.
