RESOURCES

Boy Scouts of America: The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations, providing programs for young people that build character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and develops personal fitness. For more than 100 years, Boy Scouts of America has helped build future leaders by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun.

National Capital Area Council: BSA delivers the promise of Scouting to youth in the Washington, D.C., metro area, including 16 counties in Maryland and Virginia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and US Citizens abroad in North and South America. Our programs teach young people to “Be Prepared!” for adventure, education, service, and leadership

Patriot District: The Patriot District is part of the Virginia Central field service area in the National Capital Area Council (NCAC). Patriot District is the home to 24 Cub Packs, 24 Boy Scout Troops, 9 Venturing Crews, and 3 Varsity Teams. It serves over 1,876 youth in the areas of Annandale, Burke, Fairfax and Fairfax Station in Fairfax County, Virginia. Patriot is a very diverse district with plenty of different units to fit the needs of all youth and adults. They strive to continue to build and shape tomorrows leaders.

Order of the Arrow: For over 100 years, the Order of the Arrow (OA) has recognized Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives.  This recognition provides encouragement for others to live these ideals as well.  Arrowmen are known for maintaining camping traditions and spirit, promoting year-round and long term resident camping, and providing cheerful service to others.  OA service, activities, adventures, and training for youth and adults are models of quality leadership development and programming that enrich and help to extend Scouting to America's youth.

The Patriot Press: This newsletter is published every month except July. It provides timely information to NCAC's leaders and scouts alike.

Boys' Life Magazine: This monthly publication is included with a paid BSA membership.

Merit Badge Workbooks: This site features 200 worksheets for merit badges and activities that help scouts advance.
