New Scout Campout 2026
Permission, Emergency Contact, and Medication form:
Troop 1865 requires this form to be completed for scout on every trip. The information is used for current and consolidated emergency contact and management on the trip as well as trip administration and planning.
Trip Name, Dates & Description:
Troop 1865 will host a New Scout Campout designed to welcome our new scouts to the troop and provide an orientation to troop/patrol camping and an introduction to scout skills / advancement requirements. Location is Turkey Run Ridge campground at Prince William National Forest.
Parent Participation:
Unlike Cub Scouts, troop camping in Scouts BSA is not a family camping event. While we do welcome and encourage parent participation as adult leaders within the troop, it is not the intent to replicate cub scout family camping. If interested, please sign up on the form. Questions? Please contact Matt at scoutmaster1865@gmail.com for more information.
Transportation:
New scouts should report to St George lower parking lot on Saturday March 7, 7:30am. Return to Giant Parking* lot Sunday, March 8, 12:45. As with all campouts, actual arrival times depend on traffic and how quick the scouts can break camp in the morning. The troop will send out an email upon campsite departure with a better ETA. Stay tuned.
Fees: Unlike all other troop campouts, there is no additional fee for the New Scout Campout.
** Troop 1865 uses the Giant parking lot at University Mall for camping trip return as the St George church parking lot is being used for services on Sundays.
