Details:

For the first time in forever, LCorps will be doing their own trip! False Cape State Park is Virginia's least visited park because of the inaccessibility. But that is exactly why we are going. Beach camping is a 8.5 mile hike from southern VA Beach through the Back Bay Wildlife Refuge, no vehicles allowed.

This is primitive camping.

Eligibilty:

• Must be in LCorps OR be a rank of Life.

• Must be experienced in backpacking and camping, capable of Philmont style backpacking/camping for 1 night with ~9 mile hike to and from the campsite (18 mile roundtrip)

Special Instructions:

• Pack for backpacking, leaving room for crew gear (cooking, food, first aid, etc...)

• Be able to carry at least 4 liters of water

• This will be beach camping. Pack tents appropriately.

• The bugs are real. Insect repellant is a must.

Dates: Saturday, October 3 - Sunday, October 4

Meet: 

- Depart: 6am Saturday morning at St George, depart 6:15am.

- Return: ~4pm Sunday afternoon, Giant parking lot
