Fitness Tests
There are two fitness tests (with shown improvement) required for the rank of Tenderfoot. They must be 30+ days apart.
Tenderfoot 6a – 6c require:
-
Record your best in the following tests: Pushups, sit-ups or curl-ups, back-saver sit and reach, 1-mile walk/run
-
Develop and describe a plan for improvement in each of the activities listed in Tenderfoot requirement 6a. Keep track of your activity for at least 30 days.
-
Show improvement (of any degree) in each activity listed in Tenderfoot requirement 6a after practicing for 30 days.
Scheduling
Our goal is to try to schedule these two such that:
-
Both tests done before summer camp
-
We have reasonably cool temperatures / nice weather
-
Sufficient light in the evening, as the most convenient location does not have outdoor lighting
We’ll have an earlier meetup time for these days and will announce it via email well in advance.
What you scout needs
Please have your scout wear appropriate sports clothing (particularly regarding shoes). Have your scout leave his Class A at home – we won’t need them for this meeting.
Having a rain jacket might be a good plan as well if the forecast calls for it.
As always, your scout should have his Scoutbook.
